Head of Partnerships, Data Centres

Full-time Partnerships Hybrid

Power is now the binding constraint on new data centres. Firm grid connections take years; flexible ones arrive far sooner but can be restricted when the network is congested. We pair a flexible connection with a battery and the software that runs it, so the site gets firm, bankable power in months. You’ll lead our partnerships with the operators, developers, hyperscalers and AI labs who need it, and own the commercial side of every site from first conversation to signed project.

What you’ll do

  • Build and run partnerships with data centre operators and developers, colocation providers, hyperscalers, AI labs and GPU clouds across the UK and Europe.
  • Find the sites where this works: projects stuck in the connection queue, campuses that need power before reinforcement arrives, and existing sites that want to grow past their connection.
  • Lead each opportunity from first meeting to signed site study and project agreement, with our engineers scoping the load, redundancy design, connection offer and battery.
  • Shape the commercial model: how firm capacity is priced and contracted, who owns and finances the battery, and how curtailment risk is shared with operators and their lenders.
  • Work the network side: flexible connection offers and curtailment terms, and the network operators, developers and landowners who hold capacity.
  • Represent Neura in industry forums and working groups, and through the technical diligence every serious buyer will run.
  • Build the partnerships function as we grow.

What we’re looking for

  • Senior experience, typically ten years or more, in data centre power, energy or infrastructure: at a hyperscaler, colocation operator, AI campus developer, utility, network operator or energy company.
  • A record of closing large, multi-party agreements, such as power supply, grid connection, site or infrastructure deals, from first contact to signature.
  • Relationships with the people who decide where compute goes and how it gets power: infrastructure, energy and site-selection leads at operators, hyperscalers and AI labs.
  • Fluency on both sides of the meter: redundancy (N+1, 2N), UPS, backup generation and connection terms with engineers; pricing, risk allocation and project finance with commercial and investment teams.
  • Clear, concise writing: proposals, term sheets and site summaries that engineers and investment committees both read.
  • Regular travel to sites and partners across the UK and Europe.
  • Useful but not required: time in a hyperscaler’s data centre energy, grid or critical power team; GB connections reform, non-firm connections or the Capacity Market.

Who you might be

You might have led energy, grid or site development for a hyperscaler, a colocation operator or an AI campus builder. You might have managed data centre connections at a network operator or utility, or sold critical power or storage to data centres at scale. Either way, you know how these decisions are made and who makes them.

In your first six months

  • A map of the UK and European sites where a flexible connection can bring power forward, and the decision-makers behind each.
  • Live conversations with operators and AI infrastructure teams, the most advanced at site-study stage.
  • Signed site studies, and the first project agreements in negotiation.
  • A commercial model and contract terms that partners and lenders accept.

What we offer

  • Salary and equity.
  • Hybrid working.
  • A learning and development budget.
